Hey Adam,

I figure you wont print this letter, but I thought I'd try.

Peace,
Heavy

Dear Editor,

I found myself incredibly moved by a recent article that you published
on the front page of the Bayshore Sun titled, "A growing problem".
Incredibly moved to revulsion. Marijuana is not a problem that society needs to
address other than to remove the laws that have been unjustly set against it by
politicians who have sold out to lobbyists.
Lobbyists from the tobacco, alcohol, petrochemical, cotton, pharmaceutical and
logging industries. These lobbyists do not have the interest of the public in their
hearts but only their own selfish interests regarding their bottom lines,
their financial interests.
The tobacco and alcohol lobbyists are only interested in keeping the customers
that they have buying their products instead of using marijuana which is far less
harmful than either of the drugs they push onto society. Tens of thousands of
people are killed every year by their legal crutches that are peddled by them with
the blessing of our law makers who are supposed to care about the people, yet
these same law makers have seen fit to place marijuana at the top of the list as
a schedule one narcotic even though it has never been shown to kill even one person.
Lobbyists from the logging industry want to suppress hemp production in the
United States because hemp makes better building materials and better paper
cheaper and with the use of far less toxic chemicals. An acre of hemp can be harvested
every year whereas an acre of timber takes 10 years before it can be harvested.
Lobbyists from the pharmaceutical industry want to suppress the use of marijuana
because they want people to buy their wares which are mostly toxic to the human
body instead of using a naturally growing plant which can not be pattented and anyone
can grow and is far less harmful than any of their products. Lobbyists from the
petrochemical industry want to surpress hemp production because biodegradeable
plastics which would not be clogging our landfills can be made. Hemp can also be used
to create a better grade of fuel and more fuel per acre than can be made from corn.
It also does not deplete the soil like corn does and in fact leaves the soil in better
condition after it is harvested than before it was planted, so less fertilizers are also needed.
The cotton industry wants to surpress hemp production because hemp can be used to
create better and longer lasting fabric than can be made from cotton.
Lobbyists from the insurance and medical industries are the main reason our elected
officials can not come together and pass a viable health care bill to protect the people.
It would seem then that LOBBYISTS are a GROWING problem that should be addressed
by the American people and NOT marijuana as we are being led to believe.

(The main reason I am pissed off about this article is because... they found methamphetamines, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, nearly $2,000 in cash and a gun.

Yet the only thing we see is a photo of a cop and a dog with marijuana plants growing in the background... and the title of the article is, A growing problem.

Marijuana is not a problem... the rest of the drugs they found ARE... yet where are THEY in the title and the photo?

The BIG DEAL was made of the marijuana... a naturally grown and unalterd plant... less harmful for you than alcohol.)
